Nyumbisha in ChatGPT and Claude

Ask about rent, tenants and repairs in the assistant you already use. It reads your Nyumbisha records as they are at that moment, and cannot change them.

Before you start

You are the owner, a managing agent or an administrator of the organisation in Nyumbisha. Caretakers and other roles get no records through the connector.
Your organisation is on the Pro or Premium plan. Organisations on Free can use it until 31 January 2027.
You have a ChatGPT or Claude account that allows connectors.

Connect Claude

If Nyumbisha is listed in Claude's directory, open Customize › Connectors, choose +, search for Nyumbisha and choose Connect. If it is not listed yet, add it by address:

Open Customize › Connectors, then choose Add › Add custom connector.
Name it Nyumbisha, paste the address below, and choose Continue.
Under OAuth client, choose Use your own OAuth client and paste the Claude client ID below. Leave the secret empty.
Choose Add, then sign in to Nyumbisha.

Connect ChatGPT

If Nyumbisha is listed in ChatGPT, open Settings › Plugins, search for Nyumbisha and choose Connect. If it is not listed yet, add it by address:

Open chatgpt.com/plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
Name it Nyumbisha, choose a public endpoint, and paste the address below.
Set authentication to OAuth with the ChatGPT client ID below and no secret. Confirm the warning, then choose Create as a plugin.
Sign in to Nyumbisha. In a chat, type @ and pick Nyumbisha.

Neither assistant needs a client secret. The address is the same in both; each has its own client ID.

Signing in

Adding Nyumbisha opens a Nyumbisha sign-in page. Sign in the way you usually do, pick the organisation if you belong to more than one, and check the screen names the assistant you are connecting. Choose Allow. The assistant can then read that one organisation, as you.

What it reads

The assistant chooses from these tools. Every one of them only reads.

`portfolio_brief`	The day in one answer: payments since yesterday, this month's rent, rent that went overdue this week, open repairs, what tenants are waiting on and the next 7 days.
`rent_this_month`	Rent billed and collected in a month, who paid in full, in part or not at all, and units let and vacant.
`arrears`	Who owes rent, largest debt first, and for how long.
`recent_payments`	Payments received, newest first, and whether each is matched to a tenant.
`unmatched_payments`	Payments waiting for you to say whose they are, with suggested tenants.
`find`	Turns a tenant's name or phone number, a building or a unit into its record.
`tenant`	One tenant's phone numbers, tenancies, balances and last 50 payments.
`tenancy_statement`	Every invoice on one tenancy and the payments against each.
`buildings`	Each building's units, occupancy, rent, asking rent and arrears.
`building_profile`	One building in full: its units, rents, move-in charges and water and electricity prices.
`maintenance_jobs`	Repair jobs, open ones by default, for every building or one.
`collections_trend`	Billed against collected, month by month, for up to 24 months.
`payment_behaviour`	How each tenant pays: on time, late, unpaid, and how late at most.
`vacancy_report`	Units not let, since when, and the rent lost so far.
`lease_calendar`	Move-outs, fixed terms ending, rent increases and notices coming up, and what is overdue.
`reminder_history`	Rent reminders sent, and whether the tenant paid within 7 days.
`expenses_summary`	Repair costs against rent collected, per building. Repairs are the only costs Nyumbisha records, so the net is not profit.
`tenant_messages`	Repairs tenants reported, payments they say they made, notices, deposit disputes and messages that did not go out.
`owner_statement`	One building's month for its owner: billed, collected, arrears and repairs.

Amounts come back in Kenya shillings, and every answer carries the time it was read, in Nairobi time.

What it cannot do

Change a record, message a tenant or move money.
See national ID or passport numbers, or emergency contacts.
See the text of payment messages tenants paste. It sees the amount and reference.
See any organisation other than the one you picked when you signed in.

Your data

When you ask a question, the records the answer needs go to OpenAI for ChatGPT or to Anthropic for Claude. From there, their privacy policies and your account settings with them decide how long chats are kept and whether they train on them. The privacy policy has the full list of what is sent and what never is.

Disconnecting

Remove Nyumbisha in Claude's or ChatGPT's connector settings. When someone leaves your organisation, is suspended or loses their owner, agent or administrator role, Nyumbisha ends their connection on its own.

If something goes wrong

The assistant says	What it means
It is part of the Pro and Premium plans	Your organisation's plan does not include the connector. Change plan under Settings › Billing.
It is for the owner, agent or administrator	You signed in with a role that gets no records, such as caretaker.
It cannot find a tenant	Try the unit, part of the name or the phone number.
