Bring in your records
Ways to import
You do not have to type your tenants in one by one. Pick the way that matches where your records are today.
| Your records are in | Use | What it brings in |
|---|---|---|
| Excel, Google Sheets, a notebook you can type up | Spreadsheet import | Buildings, units, tenants, rent, deposits held and what each tenant owes today |
| Your M-Pesa paybill or till statement | Statement matching | Which phone each tenant pays from, so their payments match themselves |
| Another property system, or your own database | Export to CSV, or the import API | The same as a spreadsheet, sent by a program instead of a person |
What happens to what you already have
Nothing is saved until you have seen it. Both imports show every row first, with the problems on each one, and you choose what to keep. Running the same file again is safe: anything already imported is recognised and skipped, never doubled.
Your tenants are not messaged when you import them. They hear from Nyumbisha when their next rent is due, or when you ask them for a payment.
